He mentioned that Mexico received 167,000 Chinese tourists in 2019. Despite the global tourism impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mexico's tourism industry saw a significant recovery in 2023, welcoming 42.2 million international tourists and generating $30.8 billion in economic revenue.

Mexico's standing in global tourism continues to rise, ranking sixth in the United Nations World Tourism Organization's rankings in 2022, following France, Spain, the United States, Italy, and Turkey. China and Mexico are strategic partners with significant tourist exchanges between the two countries each year. Statistics show that in 2023, 161,000 Chinese tourists entered Mexico via airports, an 84% increase compared to the same period last year. Chinese tourists contributed $182 million to Mexico's economy, an 88% increase from 2022. Additionally, from February to April this year, 68,300 Chinese tourists visited Mexico, generating $85 million in tourism revenue.
